| THE PROCESS You’ve decided that you would like to buy a new Greene Home. What do you do next? To assist you through the process of buying a new home, we have created a list of what to expect. Throughout the process if you have any questions, please contact our office or our sales staff.
To assist you in finding a floor plan to suit your needs, we have developed over 100 floor plans. And if you still can't find a plan to specifically fit your needs we can modify one of our existing plans, or try to develop something new based on an idea you have. We will do our best to accommodate you. We understand that you have done a lot of research and spent a lot of time thinking about how you are going to use your home. We have also spent a lot of time researching the latest trends and materials in new home construction. We will work with you to try and make your dreams a reality within the guidelines set by the Ontario Building Code, the sub trades available in Kingston, and your budget. We will also take into consideration scheduling and warranty issues, and will do our best to explain to you all the options.
Once you have chosen a plan that you are happy with, the next step is to contact your real estate agent. If you do not yet have a realtor, please feel free to contact Holly Henderson at Re/Max Realty Concepts Corp. or John Price at Sutton Group Masters Realty. Once you have established your realtor, they will work with you to write an offer. This offer is very specific to new home construction. It contains an immense amount of data concerning your new home, the warranty that is involved, the brochure plans, the specifications, and of course, the offer itself. We encourage you to read through this offer carefully with your realtor and your lawyer.
Once the offer has been written, and any conditions have been removed, before we begin your home, the selection process begins. At this point you will have the opportunity (if scheduling allows) to make any floor plan changes as well as any colour choices. While doing your selections, if there is something you would like installed in your home, just ask, and we will contact our suppliers for availability.
On the typical home you would choose the following from our samples:
This is also your opportunity to upgrade from our standards to the following:
Building a new home is a process that will require time and patience from you. The entire process will take approximately 4 months depending on the time of year and the availability of sub trades. However, in the end, it is worth it!
